On August 15th, – nearly 90 local high school students ended their summer vacation to start school early as part of the new Blue Water Middle College program. This exciting new education initiative is being offered for the first time in St. Clair County. Students enrolled in the Blue Water Middle College charter school will split their time between SC4 and and their home high schools. Juniors will take four classes at their high schools and two college courses. Seniors will take three classes at each institution. In year 13, students will take one high school class and 14-16 credits at college, then graduating with an associate degree in the 13th year! Wow!!!
Virtually no cost to students other than transportation to their college classes which is not provided as part of the program. This is an outstanding education pilot program and we wish the Blue Water Middle College and the academy’s new students tremendous success! This is such an exciting venture to putting our children on the Fast Track to higher education.
