New St. Clair County Entrepreneurial Website & Database DevelopedThe website www.stclairstartups.com was developed to offer a variety of regional and statewide resources including entrepreneurship training & programs, accounting services, legal planning, incubator space availability, small business loans, grant writing assistance and a wide variety of additional entrepreneurial opportunities. 

 The development of an entrepreneurial resource database was called for as one of the initiatives of the Blue Meets Green Economic Development Strategic plan.  EDA agreed to fund the development of the database and host the website www.stclairstartups.com with direct links also provided on EDA’s main website www.edascc.com and on www.bluemeetsgreen.org

Senator Pavlov  announces launch of new Biz Portal at EDA’s Annual Meeting:  The development and implementation of the Biz Portal is a result of a desired initiative of the region’s Where Blue Meets Green economic development strategic plan (EDSP) to foster innovation and growth.  In response to the growing demand for quick & convenient online business tools and applications to assist existing business owners, the Biz Portal will strive to:

  • Inspire local business-to-business commerce
  • Foster & promote business opportunities to attain new business, diversify, create a new product line and/or jointly compete for potential work contracts
  • Inspire Global Commerce by identifying St. Clair County business products, services and capabilities to potential clients     
  • Business attraction resource – identifying the region’s existing business capabilities for complimenting business growth as well as potential gaps waiting to be filled in the region

EDA launches new regional job portalThe purpose in offering this new job portal is to create a strong local, regional approach specifically targeted to St. Clair County businesses to make it easier for them to locate new talent, quickly fill job openings when new positions or expansions arise and to develop a strong candidate pool of ready candidates for new businesses opening in the region.  This newly developed job portal once promoted and highly utilized by regional job seekers can also serve as an attraction tool by EDA in identifying a strong presence of skilled workforce availability to potential business prospects. http://stclairjobspot.com/
